Newborn session at home - Watford area
Updated: Feb 3
When Claire approached me about a newborn session in December 2019 I got very excited: that's a wrap of 2019!
I sent her my guide, soon we set the date, we had a pre-consultation on FaceTime, I sent her my newborn checklist and a few days before the new decade has approached, I was at their home.
She warned me that it might be too dark in their home in the Winter so I decided to bring my lighting with me. My umbrella is quite big but it would fit basically in any home without any issue. And I'm so glad I did because it was a dark, rainy and grey morning and the extra light source provided beautiful soft light.
I arrived in the morning at the time when this little gorgeous baby usually naps. But as you can guess, she didn't rest for a second while I was there :) And it's completely fine, she was such a happy and content baby that as soon as she finished the feeding, she was a super star and a dream to photograph.
We started in the living room which is my absolute favourite spot in the house - perfect for a family snuggle with a newborn baby. Then I took a few snaps in the dining area then we went up for a few shoots in the bedroom. The bedroom is another favourite of mine and I love using the big bed of the parents to show the tininess of a newborn baby. As the session was around Christmas, I didn't want to leave without a few first Christmas photos of the family, so I asked mum to sit down on the armchair with that beautiful colour.
It was such a perfect, slow session... just as a newborn session should be.
I hope you will enjoy their gallery.
